Abstract


It is well known that martial art is a kind of traditional sports to strengthen the body and foster the will, which has a long culture history. It belongs to the culture conception , demonstrated in sports form. In a certain degree, martial art is not only the development of sports, also a representation of the orient culture, most important of all, it is a kind of culture spreading. The spreading of the western martial art influenced the development of martial art. From the gymnastics martial art to athletics martial art, Sanda, and new in-taken Gongfadasai until as a whole, content and rules of martial art became more and more westernized, due to the influence of the western sports culture, which also a conflict to traditional sports culture. The development of martial art is not only the development of athletics martial art, but also includes the development of traditional martial art and school martial art. In order to enhance the development of martial art, we have to make an all-round strategy.The author hopes to analyze the following from the difference between orient and western cultures, by means of documents, interviewing, history study, logics, including: 1 the features and appearance of the traditional sports culture; 2 the features of the western culture ;3 the difference of the two sports cultures ;4 the orient sports culture in the body of martial art; 5 the history since western martial art came to China;6 as a result of the western sports culture influence, martial arts have changed in its development direction, its content and its regularity in our country;7 what measure we should take to push the development of martial art according to the two culture difference, and 8 providing a kind of reference for martial arts development through the study of the martial art value and other items.Since the foundation of the People’s Republic of China, the government took a lot of measures to boost the development of martial arts, which has also made great achievements. But this subject is rarely studied from the angle of culture. This paper takes the sports culture as a breakthrough, brings up some methods to make full use of the martial art, such as strengthening body ,education, to spread the martial art in the international field and give some good proposals for the martial art’s development.The martial arts develops either towards the world or in the domestic, we must study the difference between the East and West culture; We must consider the fact that the understanding and the demand of different people are different; We must profit from the promotion and the development of the international sports project. In the cultural, we should design and the promote martial arts for the honor of the Chinese spirit, and we should make the martial arts become an important sports project, but not lose the cultural connotation.
