Abstract


The purpose of the past, some studies reported that VEGF-C in gastric lymphatic transfer plays an important role, but VEGF-C and the combined expression of CDX-2 in gastric cancer tissues has not been reported in the literature. The purpose of this study is to analyze the vascular endothelial growth factor-C (VEGF-C) and the homeobox transcription factor -2 (CDX-2) expression in gastric cancer tissues and its clinical and pathological features, and its relationship with the prognosis of gastric cancer. Methods Third Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from January 2006 to August 2007 gastroscopy or postoperative pathology confirmed 88 cases of gastric cancer specimens. The selected specimens surgery were not conventional radiotherapy and chemotherapy, postoperative radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The experimental group, 53 males and 35 females, aged 25-78 years old, mean age 57.6 ± 1.31 years; Lauren classification, 62 cases of intestinal type gastric cancer, 17 cases of gastric cancer, diffuse mixed nine cases of gastric cancer; according to the degree of differentiation high differentiated gastric cancer and 12 cases of differentiated gastric cancer 27 cases, poorly differentiated gastric cancer 49 cases; depth of invasion score, T1 T2, 32 T3 T4 56 cases; regional lymph node metastasis, N1 31 cases, N2 24 patients without lymph node metastasis in 33 cases; five cases of distant metastasis, no distant metastasis in 83 cases; clinical stage, Ⅰ Ⅱ 40 cases, Ⅲ Ⅳ period 48 cases. Selected 20 cases in the same period the gastroscopy normal gastric mucosa as a control group, 13 men and 7 women, age 28 to 76 years, mean age 54.2 ± 1.35 years, no significant difference between the two groups of patients in the age-gender composition. Detected by immunohistochemical methods CDX-2 and VEGF-C expression and gastric tissue differentiation, invasion and metastasis, and follow-up of patients with survival situation, the application of the cox regression analysis of CDX-2 and VEGF-C in gastric carcinoma The expression on the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer. Results of 1.60 patients were followed up for material. The results of our research: 1, CDX-2 positive expression rate of VEGF-C in gastric cancer tissues than in normal gastric mucosa, 46.5% and 61.3%, respectively, were statistically significant (x2 = 4.374, P = 0.012 ); 2, VEGF-c with the degree of tumor differentiation, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis (P lt; 0.05), CDX-2 expression Lauren stage, depth of invasion and TNM stage related (P lt; 0.05); 3, kaplan-meier survival curves and Cox regression analysis, the CDX-2 and VEGF-C expression in gastric cancer tissues prompted CDX-2 () / VEGF-C (-) the best prognosis of patients, and CDX-2 ( -) / VEGF-C () with the worst prognosis; CDX-2, VEGF-C in patients with gastric cancer prognosis negatively correlated. Conclusion The detection of CDX-2, the expression of VEGF-C in gastric carcinoma, helps determine the prognosis of patients with joint detection of CDX-2 and VEGF-C may be a predictor of the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer.
