With the rapid development of information technology, as a key equipment for optical media conversion, Fiber optical transceivers attracts more and more people’s attention, at the same time, people’s demand for fiber optical transceivers become increasing too. Embodied in intelligent, stable and network management and so on. Intelligent, it should support link fault pass-through, flow-control, port auto-negotiation function and so on. Stability, the fiber optical transceiver should be able to better adapt to the actual network environment. Network management, requires management to easily monitor local and remote fiber optical transceivers, reduce network maintenanace costs. Based on the analysis and research of domestic and international fiber optical transceivers, designed an intelligent optical transceiver systems.The intelligent fiber optical transceivers system designed includes client, network management unit, photoelectric conversion unit, the system power supply circuit diagram four parts. The system uses ARM7TDMI-S microcontroller LPC2210 as the core of hardware, and theμCLinux operating system as the platform of software. Through the studying of fiber optical transceiver functions and working principle. It takes the ARM processor (LPC2210) as the core of network management unit and the IP113S optical media converter chip as the core of photoelectric conversion unit. And power circuit diagram of the system.The whole system is based on B/S and C/S structure, B/S structure is that the client computer can be any PC which is connected to the Internet, and you can view the monitor picture of the intelligent fiber optical transceivers system, not needing to install any special software. C/S structure is that the client computer need to install related network management software (SNMPc V6) and LCD interface based on MiniGUI. The design has completed the transplanting ofμCLinux operating system; the embedding of Web server; the transplanting of CMU-SNMP (Camegie Mellon University-Simple Network Management protocol) packet; the developing of driver and application program. This design follows to the idea of low power from hardware and software.We have tested the whole system after it was designed. The system can achieve the function of detecting and regulating the photoelectric conversion unit. The system works stable, and it reaches the desired goal. Experiments based on the intelligent fiber optical transceivers system have been done. The intelligent fiber optical transceiver system has achieved good results in the experiment, It can be used in the actual operation, and it lays the foundation for the next generation of fiber optical transceiver system
