Abstract

Wood carving of Bai minority in Dali of Yunnan, is famous both at home and abroad from long ago, and it is represented by the carvings of Jianchuan. Jianchuan carvings as characteristics of traditional cultural are Created by the diligent and intelligent of local people in the long process of development of human civilization. The decorative arts of Jianchuan wood carving has a shape closely linked to local culture as well as the ancient culture of Bai minority, and the nation culture of the Nanzhao and the Dali which impact on the Chinese culture.As an outstanding traditional arts, academics are so interested of the research of that in recent years.But the studies of the art of Jianchuan wood carving usually limited to the wide applications, the characteristics in aesthetic, the value of aesthetic and the Carving methods of the art Bai minority of Jianchuan wood carving in the construction, furniture and crafts, and it can not reflect the changes of the true history, can not highlight the art of Jianchuan wood carving and decorative features. And the lack of the origin of Jianchuan wood carving, and the influence of wood carving of Nanzhao, Dali period, and also lack of the evolution history of Jianchuan wood carving, and the detailed studies of how it transmit into modern society.On the basis of large number of collected documents, from the perspective of Art design, this dissertation has carried out researches on decorative arts around Jianchuan wood carving. On the basis of comparing with the Dongyang wood carvings in Zhejiang of the decorative patterns, and a lot of the actual wood patterns which are shoot by the writer, from the point of semiotics and vocabulary of Modern Semeiology, analysis the characteristics of Jianchuan decorative arts of wood carvings; And analysis the reasons for the formation of Jianchuan decorative arts of wood carvings and the reason that led to the decorative arts of wood carvings of the implication behind the profound cultural connotation. Obtain results of some feasible design methods and theory, with a new view to reflect the identification and inspiration of the traditional arts application in modern design.Use the semeiology theory, contrast method, induction method to analyse the art from each angles to Jian Chuan county wood carving, connotation has carried out the optesthesia sign characteristic and symbolic culture studying, significance, has reached a little feasibility design plan and has designed theory to understanding, protecting Jian Chuan wood carving even Chinese wood carving art, decoration culture of our country all have the important effection and specifically for Jian Chuan county wood carving studies in modern society application.The thesis expects that to appear useful, can give the certain research value, carrying on warning and the enlightenment to the relation understanding tradition culture and modern design, to tradition handicraft art in modern transmissionand application in designing that.
