Abstract

In the fields of international political and trade relations, the conception of economic interdependence is an international economic relationship that has a mutual interaction with economic and political relations in which all the actors would bear the costs especially should the economic relations between them be disrupted. There are three identities in the economic interdependence that contribute to cooperation; also some identities in the security interdependence generate political conflicts. In some circumstances the former would convert to the latter and the economic disputes would be the fuse of the political or military conflicts. The U.S.-Japan trade frictions during the WWII were the example. This theory also had been proved by the use of VERs to cope with the U.S.-Japan trade frictions and interactions between the trade frictions and the political relationship among them after the end of WWII.
