Abstract


As the ecological environment problems of our country are becoming more serious today, eco-migration, which is an important method for solving the environment problems of our country, is paid more attention by people. The results of eco-migration are of vital importance to the realization of both eco-environment protection and human beings’ development. On the basis of on-the-spot investigation in Aolikegacha, this thesis focuses on deep investigation to typical families. From the angle of social change, it chooses main parts of herdsmen’s production and living to discuss the influence of eco-migration to herdsmen’s life and the social transformation and cultural adaptation of herdsmen’s life to changes.This thesis contains five chapters. The first chapter: introduction. This chapter introduces significance and reasons for choosing this topic, reviews relevant studies on life style, changes of nomadic society and eco-migration done before, expounds theoretical background and practical significance of this study, and summarizes main methods adopted by this study. The second chapter: general situation of the Cow Village (Aolike). This chapter describes the geographical position, natural conditions, population, economy and eco-environment of Aolike, and introduces briefly basic situation of migration, which provide a natural and humane background of this study for readers. The third chapter: economic life. This chapter expounds in great details transformation of herdsmen’s producing pattern after migration, and changes in life caused by the transformation of producing pattern. It discusses how local herdsmen adapt to change of producing and living patterns, and what problems have appeared in their production and living. This chapter also pays attention to the shifting of labor forces after the transformation of producing and living, and classification in the community during the process of adapting to the transformation. The forth chapter: social life. This chapter focuses on influence of eco-migration to local people’s producing and living patterns from the angle of social life. It mainly expounds changes of herdsmen’s family structure, marriage style, children education, social intercourse, customs and habits after migration, and analyzes reasons which cause the changes and the further developing tendency of the changes. The fifth chapter: conclusion. This chapter summarizes problems that local herdsmen encounter in their production and living and their corresponding methods, points out herdsmen’s problems of adapting, and summarizes basic eco-migration model of Aolikegacha andits being used for reference in other places.The genuine eco-migration in the Western China began at the end of 1990’s, so study on eco-migration of our country stays in the initial stage. Studies before stop at the macro level, and take qualitative study method as main method to expound eco-migration problems. The method of documents collecting is mainly adopted to collect natural and economic materials, and such fields as natural geography, politics, law, economy and national policies are involved. This thesis uses combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, and combines questionnaire survey, participant observation and depth interview. In the range of a community, it describes specifically transformation of local people’s producing and living patterns, changes of their ideology, customs and habits, social transformation and cultural adaptation in their migration experience, and keeping of community cohesion. Then it sums up laws in eco-migration. I expect that practical materials collected in my investigation could enrich authentic proving to environment problems, provide foundation in formulating general and specific policies for various government departments, and provide experience reference for other scholars’ studies.
