Abstract

Japanese government accepted the Potsdam Proclamation after the 2nd world war; the king announced to the public that Japan surrendered non-conditionally. The dark age of Japanese Militarism Fascist which they killed 2 thousand Asians was ended. Post-war Democratism, economy and culture were founded at the same time and Japanese nation began its long- term recovery age of humanity. In the turmoil of present system and the following innovative trend, renaissance’s period of the past media was coming. Literature writer actives, foreign literature had got the attention of the public. The contemporary Japanese literature developed under the background of the social politics, economy and culture, post-war group literature appeared.I. Modern Literature and the Rising of Post-war GroupA serial of democratization laws were put in force under American occupying army, and many magazines and publications were started with the encouragement by law of Liberty of speech and publication. “Modern Literature” appeared in January1946. Literature comment of Modern Ego as antecedence, respect to human and freedom, break away from ideological tie of feudalism, pursue the reality and oppose Benthamism of literature, call for art conciliarism, this is the first step for the Post-war Group.Post-war Group is not only a concept of time, but also a new pursuant of Post-war Group writer’s in literature ideas change and a new trend to the literature topic and structure; it is an essential change from Pre-war Japanese literature, an innovation in content and style under the special environment. In the point of time procedure, the literature could be divided into “1st Post-war Group” and “2nd Post-war Group”. In the point of the content of the main idea, it pays much more attention to show social affairs from the eyes of literature, to criticize and meditate the invading war and the related turmoil after the war; in the description manner, self-expression was emphasized and breaks through traditional obstacles, Western means and styles widely used in <WP=37>modern literature. As a literature branch, the writers and theirs’ works are similar to Pre-war and during the war period on human concept, literature concepts and styles, but the characteristics of Post-war Group are obvious as: (1).Outstanding sociality;(2). Strong self-awareness; (3). Novel expression skills. II. Pemaity jemp character of Postwar Group 1. Postwar group literature met western modern literature unexpectedlyMost of writers who belong to the postwar group often had deep understanding about foreign literature. For example, Nomahirosi was interested in “Flower of Evil” which was written by Bodlie who was the French symbolism and modernism pioneer during his middle school period, and was attracted to literature area by French symbolized poems. Nakamura graduated from French Institute of Tokyo University. He was a French lecturer in the university after war. He made great accomplishments for French literature especially for 19th’s poems. He was the first man who promoted “catching up with the world literature”; Annbukoubou had deep understanding for super-realism. He set a target of pioneer group, and started the Japanese existentialism. The foreign literature cultivation they had was the essential condition for new breakthrough of postwar group, and was the base of self-confidence to give up and challenge to the local literature conventions.2. Postwar Group Literature Inosculating with and Catching up with Western Modern LiteratureWorks by main postwar writers reflects thoughts of western modern literature and direct influences by foreign art works to some different extents.(1) Nomhirosi and SymbolismNomhirosi was famous in postwar group. He did not only pay attention to the thought of his works, but also thought much of deep research and creation in arts.
