Abstract


Copyright Collective Management Mechanism has been established for centuries and developed maturely worldwide. However the development of the collective management of literary works is very short, though it is an indispensable part of Copyright Collective Management Mechanism. In most countries,the Literary Works Collective Management Organizations have no more than twenty-year history. The rapid development of the Literary Works Collective Management Organizations is the successful collective action facing the challenge brought by technology. Along with the coming of digital network era, it is badly affected by all sorts of emerging digital technology. International copyright societies started to think about how to deal with the challenges brought by digital network technology.Therefore, the thesis aims to review the development and current situation of the collective management of literary works, examine the experience responding to the challenges brought by digital network technology, and conclude the development tendency of it. There are four chapters in all.The first chapter mainly introduces the development,current situation, features and functions of the collective management of literary works. The second chapter mainly analyses the main stakeholders involved in the mechanism. The third chapter mainly discusses the compensation distribution models of the mechanism. The last chapter analyses the impact of digital network technology and the development tendency in the process of technical challenges.
