Witherite also known as natural barium carbonate . The barium salt extracted from ore and barium compounds are widely used in electronics , mining , chemicals , building materials , light industry , medicine and metallurgy , they are very important industrial material . Chengkou witherite abundant barium ore , local mineral . Their reserves not only the largest in the country , in the world, is also second to none . Existing technology , however , there are a lot of defects , the conversion rate is very low ( clinker BaO content is only about 40% ) , production inefficiencies , high costs and labor intensity drawbacks . The existing technology has been a serious impediment to the further development of the plant . In order to solve these problems, this research project witherite decomposition at high temperatures , and discuss the feasibility of the rotary kiln calcination witherite . Through theoretical analysis and experimental research , the study found , if not in witherite add any substance directly roasting , toxic the witherite decomposition temperature of 1200 ℃ , while a large number of decomposition will need 1400 ° C high temperature . However, if the temperature is above 13 ° C , witherite barium the mine appears bonding phenomenon . Therefore, this method can not be applied in the actual production . By a large number of experimental studies , the paper found witherite add 10% of the coke powder , and then calcined at 1350 ℃ , while maintaining a reducing atmosphere , the best experimental results will be achieved . Witherite calcined clinker content of BaO of up to 54%, under such conditions , and converted into the conversion rate is 70% or more . This paper, through the establishment of the mathematical model to verify the correctness of the experimental results . In addition, the article also designed the relevant parameters of the rotary kiln , and discuss the feasibility of the rotary kiln calcination witherite . The rotational speed of the rotary kiln between 0 ~ 5r/min , between 1% to 5% slope , the kiln length 5m , kiln diameter 0.25m. Through a rotary kiln calcination witherite experiments to determine the related operating parameter . And is the witherite key rotary kiln calcination to control a good atmosphere in the rotary kiln .
