Abstract


Saudi Block B to bid for exploration and development blocks obtained by Sinopec Group Company in Saudi Arabia in 2004 , the low level of exploration in the region . This article take full advantage of the outcrop , drilling , well logging and seismic data , sequence stratigraphic division and correlation , lithofacies , seismic facies , with a systematic study of the Paleozoic sequence stratigraphy and sedimentary system and favorable hydrocarbon zone for the blocks of Paleozoic strata in the oil and gas exploration has important reference value . Articles from regional geological studies proceed , through the development law of the sedimentary evolution and sequence analysis of the overall research ideas , \initially identified three level sequence I , six grade Ⅱ sequence 10 III level sequence , carved out of the 22 systems tracts . Particular the main hydrocarbon source rocks of the Paleozoic transgressive systems tract development Qusaiba segment Silurian deposition for the initial flooding period was zonal distribution in the shallow shelf and the Gulf hydrostatic environment , corrected before that the distribution of hydrocarbon source rocks contiguous or depression in the central thickened awareness . First summed up the study area there are flood plains , braided river delta , shore , tidal flat , glaciers, shelf seven depositional systems , and the mapping unit system tract map compilation , reveal the Paleozoic period the paleogeographic look . Finally, the combination of reservoir studies , predicted slopes on both sides of the central depression zone of the block , is a the accumulation conditions configuration better site , easy to form an effective trap favorable areas for exploration .
