Abstract

With the rapid development of IPv6 technology , IPv4 to IPv6 has gradually become an important topic in the field of Internet research . Change from IPv4 to IPv6 will inevitably bring about a new revolution on the Internet , whether it is hardware or software will be a new development . How to rely on the existing IPv4 network facilities IPv4/IPv6 interoperability , and hide the lower details , has become the primary problem . Now the problem of transition technologies, including dual-stack technology , tunneling and address protocol translation ( NAT - PT ) , which NAT-PT is an important transition technology , packet address translation and protocol translation to achieve communication between IPv4 nodes and IPv6 nodes . This article describes the Internet and IP agreement , development and research status of the new features of IPv6 addressing method and message format , compared IPv4 and IPv6 packet formats . Analysis and comparison of the three transition technologies , focusing on analysis of the dynamic NAT-PT technology , in-depth study of the working principle and implementation process of the NAT-PT translation gateway , designed and implemented based on a dynamic NAT-PT gateway . IPv6 to IPv4 NAT-PT gateway can only be achieved through a one - way access to this paper, the DNS - ALG technology , to achieve a two-way communication between IPv4 and IPv6 . Finally, dynamic NAT-PT gateway designed to be realized in a Linux environment . The entire gateway includes three modules : Address Translation (NAT) module , protocol conversion PT module , Application Layer Gateway DNS - ALG module . The tests show that the gateway can achieve two-way exchange of visits of IPv4 and IPv6 .
