Abstract

Jet pump technology has been widely used in various industry fields. Jet pump has a simple structure, easy to operate and maintain and having no moving components. Compared with the traditional central type jet pump, the annular type jet pump having an annular driving nozzle is more suitable for the transportation material including liquid or solid. There are few research reports about cavitation of the annular type jet pump. Cavitation will reduce the efficiency of the annular type jet pump, cause great destroy and generate noise and vibration. This paper discusses the issue to study the cavitation performance of the annular type jet pump, and present the methods how to improve the cavitation performance of annular type jet pump. The primary contents of this paper are as follow:1. The background of the task needed research are reviewed.2. Analyze generating mechanics of cavitation, find out some main factors influenced on cavitation, and derive the equation of incipient cavitation.3. Study the cavitation performance of the annular type jet pump. Put forward some advice to improve the cavitation performance of the annular type jet pump through analyzing the influence on cavitation performance from the structure parameters of the annular type jet pump.4. It is the first time to present a new idea that using the Self-excited Oscillation pulse nozzle to improve the cavitation performance of the annular type jet pump, and then designed the annular type jet pump.
