With recent years of college system reform and the expansion of enrollment scale, especially the gradually advancement of college logistics socialization and implementation of credit system, the position of college dorms in students’ ideological and political education has been increasing gradually. The colleges and their relevant departments conduct an exploration in promoting the student’s dormitory management unify and standardized development, and they have achieved some results. However, some problems are exposed in the process of building successively, such as material environment construction, management service, and ideological education issues.This paper sets this micro and specific special field of college dorm as a study object, sets "educating people" as the goal, starts from the views of university students’ development, by the way of analyze on the relationship between college dormitory culture and university students ideological and political education, creatively to discuss the new carrier of university students ideological and political education—college dormitory culture. By the ways of direct and indirect questionnaire, interview and meeting discussion, this paper makes a systematic analysis and empirical research on the college dormitory culture construction and university students ideological and political education.This paper tentatively analyses the meaning, structure, function of college dormitory culture, it indicates that the college dormitory culture is the synthesis of relatively stable physical form and spiritual form, which consists of material level, spiritual level, institutional level, and behaviour level.The college dormitory culture presents the characteristics of social culture and campus culture in performance way; conceptually, it reflects the personal tendentiousness of campus mainstream culture. It shows its function with a subtle way in the mode of action, and emphasis on the ideological and political education effect of college dormitory culture, it believes that college dormitory culture has the effects of culture, inspection platform, education orientation, personality molding.By the way of questionnaires in part of universities, it is learnt about the current situation and existing problems with the levels of material, spirit, institution and behaviour. Among them, the missing humanized design concept, fuzzy community behaviour specification, interpersonal relationship indifference and spiritual pursuit reduction, conflict between management and service have become the main crux existing in current college dormitory culture.The construction of college dormitory culture must be started from higher education reform, College moral education environment optimization and students individuality development, meanwhile, it should be followed the principles of "people-oriented" and "management education" unify, orientation and scientific unify, openness and systematicness unify, unified requirements and outstanding individual character unity. This paper analyzes on the typical experience of national and international college dormitory culture construction, and thinks that the college dormitory culture construction should make an effort with the following aspects: creating humanized material culture environment, strengthening community behavior specification, creating healthy and positive mental environment, constructing institutional system of“service to educate people”.The construction of college dormitory culture is a long-term system project, it needs all levels of leadership and organization to make unremitting efforts to promote its constantly enrich and perfect, promoting college dormitory culture construction to reach a new stage, such as add new contents, add new forms etc. Anyhow, the study of creative theories could provide reference for the university students work, promote the construction of school spirit, teaching style and style of study,.
