Abstract


Modern Calligraphy Style Design is an idea which gestate from Modern Style Design, it belong to the category of Modern Chinese Characters’ Style Design. Immerse in the multiculturalism and nationalism of postmodernism, Chinese Designer apperceive increasingly that they can assimilate nourishment from Chinese encyclopedical traditional culture and the Calligraphy can not be ignored because it is an art that has the most oriental fascination. Meanwhile, the progress of modern computer technique make it come true for Calligraphy to show its’ fascination on the modern design arena.This thesis dissertate the origin and definition of modern calligraphy style design at first, nail down its’ position and time mission. Then, based on the traditional calligraphy theory and western modern design theory, it analyse the expression of formal language in Chinese Characters’ Calligraphy Style Design. Third, it analyse the modern society culture behind the formal language from the angle of the audience aesthetic requirement. At last, it dissertate the applications of Calligraphy Style Design in modern society’s different field from several level.We can conclude from this thesis that Chinese Characters Calligraphy Style Design not only just quote traditional element based on modern design, but also incarnate the cultural meaning of the time, arouse the people emotional resonance. And then it can extend its applications on different content, and make the calligraphy fascination melt in the society cultural life fully.
