Abstract


With the opening up of China's financial industry, the end of the transitional period , the domestic banking sector has been fully open to foreign financial institutions , foreign banks were obtained with domestic commercial banks in the market dominant position of complete equality . And, of four large state-owned commercial banks have successfully completed the shareholding reform . In the 21st century , the domestic consolidated financial environment has undergone great changes , China's joint-stock commercial banks operating encountered enormous difficulties facing competitive pressures and financial risks growing. Therefore, the study of the competitiveness of joint-stock commercial banks , analyze their productivity and changes in the factors found to affect their productivity and thus to provide a basis for future reform decision has important significance. In this paper, a large number of domestic and international review of research on TFP and its application in the banking sector on the basis of the research literature , the use of aggregate production function based Solow residual method to China ten joint-stock commercial bank wholly 2000-2007 factor productivity and its contribution to output was estimated , and the impact of joint-stock banks TFP change related factors were analyzed. The results showed that: in 2000 and 2001 of joint-stock banks is negative TFP growth , and the next few years, basically showing steady growth in eight years , the average growth rate of 21.31 percent , the contribution rate of output of nearly 50% ; from the impact of joint-stock banks total factor productivity growth factors, risk management, quality of human resources as well as the main business income and TFP was a significant positive correlation between the level of development of intermediary business impact on TFP is insignificant . Based on the empirical analysis , we propose to improve risk management, strengthening of human resources management , and vigorously develop intermediary business policy recommendations.
