Abstract


Economic structural adjustment and economic growth pattern to achieve sustainable development must face a problem, but also economic development should follow the objective laws of our country. Since the reform and opening up, open economy, China's industrial structure upgrading, the driving force of evolution can not be ignored from the development of the external sector of the economy. RMB exchange rate as an important price variable, and changes by the trade structure, prices of export products, capital flows and role in China's internal economy. This article, based on the discussion of the path of economic growth and exchange rate changes between the RMB exchange rate appreciation pressures on the internal drive of China's industrial structure adjustment, elaborated to promote economic growth, changes in the exchange rate impact. This paper first describes the objective reality of the RMB exchange rate and China's industrial structure evolution, the study of China's export-oriented economic model of the formation process and internal and external sector productivity differential development. Based on the Balassa - Samuelson model to investigate the mode of China's economic growth and industrial structure characteristics of the internal driving force is the current RMB exchange rate changes. Study changes in the RMB exchange rate and industrial structure adjustment process, this paper focuses on the mechanism of long-term exchange rate movements on the role of China's industrial structure, and expand the role of the path of the exchange rate from the current account of the balance of payments and capital respectively. In the process of economic development, China's export commodity structure has undergone significant changes, product resource endowment from the main changes to the resource-intensive to labor-intensive, so as to realize the main capital-and technology-intensive trade structure upgrade our country's industrial structure is also accompanied by this change constantly adjust. Such changes in the structure and the RMB exchange rate changes occur at the same time. From extraordinary items, recalled the history of the evolution of the RMB exchange rate since the reform and opening up, combined with the RMB real exchange rate movements, changes in the structure of China's foreign trade. The same time, based on the exchange rate pass-analysis demonstrated that the mechanism of action of the exchange rate affect the structure of foreign trade, from a theoretical point of view, and the use of VAR model empirical analysis of the impact of exchange rate changes on changes in relative prices and competitiveness of industrial products, to explore in the price of the product two-factor (market factors and transfer factors) changes in the structure of China's foreign trade in the role; from the capital project, we study the effect of foreign direct investment in the industrial structure adjustment and the use of co-integration and Error Correction Model January 1994 to In June 2009, the period exchange rate movements and foreign direct investment relationship between the empirical analysis. The results show that the appreciation of the RMB exchange rate have a positive role in promoting China's industrial structure optimization.
