Abstract


Since the reform of RMB exchange rate in2005, with more flexible exchange rate system, the pace of appreciation of the RMB also goes steadily. In the past two years, this trend seems to be more quickly, a continuous and great RMB appreciation also has caused the attention from all walks of life, the advantages and disadvantages influence of RMB appreciation to China and even the world becomes a fierce discussion topic. In2011, the rise trend still continues, the exchange of RMB/USD went over6.5records on April29.The change in the exchange will affect China’s capital market in all kinds of ways. The exchange rate volatility will change money holdings and yields of various investment tools. It will cause that domestic and abroad investors constantly change their portfolios and asset allocation, which will affect Chinese capital securities market. At the same time, price changes of various investment product in our country securities market will also affect the decision of investors, thus affect the exchange.In the background of RMB appreciation, this paper studies the relationship of the exchange of RMB/USD, RMB/EUR, RMB/JPY and RMB/HKD and Chinese two stock market price indexes, and does some empirical analysis. Combining with the experience of other countries, the writer puts forward for the proposal about the development of China’s capital market.
