Abstract


Regional economic competitiveness is increasingly becoming the focus of attention of the government policy and theoretical research . More and more experts and scholars recognize that speed up the development of the regional economy , the key is to strive to enhance the competitiveness of the regional economy . This article first summarizes the theoretical basis of the regional competitiveness , pursuant to which the proposed regional economic competitiveness of the overall framework of the evaluation system ; followed by regional economic competitiveness study used principal component analysis , analytic hierarchy process , cluster analysis and other methods , and the use of principal component analysis to empirical research and comparative analysis of the regional level of competitiveness of the six provinces of central China in 2005 , a comprehensive display of the connotation of the provincial economic competitiveness ; Finally, based on the empirical analysis concluded : from the view of the total index score of provinces , Hubei Province 's economic competitiveness in the six central provinces ranked second, after Henan Province . On this basis , focusing on the present situation and the level of competitiveness of Hubei Province , in-depth analysis , and Hubei economic development strategy of comprehensive competitiveness . Study the integrated use of the theory of economic competitiveness , regional economic theory, the theory of competitive , on the basis of draw on the research of scholars , to take a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis , specification analysis and empirical analysis of both the research methods , and by means of statistical analysis software SPSS, using principal component analysis method to construct the econometric model of regional economic competitiveness . The main significance of this paper is to improve, improve regional competitiveness evaluation index system , a comprehensive evaluation of the competitiveness of Hubei Province and the central region provinces , to determine the location of Hubei competition clear advantage , disadvantage, so as to enhance Hubei Province, the competitiveness of certain ideas .
