Abstract

Energy intensity inverted U curve Reddy and Goldenberg, who advanced industrial countries of Western empirical data concluded that, as the process of promoting industrialization, energy intensity increased first and then decreased inverted U trend. Energy intensity changes reflect changes in the efficiency of energy use. Therefore, the study of changes in energy intensity trends, for a country or region to reduce energy intensity, energy conservation, ease the energy crisis plays an important role. Heavy industry as a high-energy-consuming industries, with high energy intensity. The proportion of heavy industry in the national economy to improve (ie, re-industrialization) will undoubtedly improve energy intensity. Heavy industrialization in most countries or regions is a necessary stage, especially in developing countries. These countries in order to catch up with the developed industrial countries, often using heavy industrialization development model. Practice shows that the heavy economic growth of these countries made a great contribution, but also brought a huge waste of energy. Therefore, the extent and scale of the development of heavy industry on the direction of change in energy intensity plays the most critical effect. This article provides a new perspective, that is, in the process of analyzing heavy industrialization movements in energy intensity, heavy industrialization in order to highlight the impact on energy intensity. This paper aims to combine the data in Xinjiang, the use of relevant economic theory and statistics, measurement, and other analytical methods demonstrated multi-faceted process of heavy industrialization in Xinjiang energy intensity inverted U curve. First, the use of relevant historical data in Xinjiang from 1952 to 2007, and based on mature industrialized theory, a detailed analysis of the degree of heavy industrialization in Xinjiang. The results show that Xinjiang has entered the middle of industrialization, are moving to an advanced stage, while increasing the proportion of heavy industry, light industry has replaced the economic development of Xinjiang to become the dominant industry, the degree of heavy industrialization in Xinjiang have improved significantly. Secondly, in the re-analysis of the process of industrialization in Xinjiang changes in energy intensity trends, the use of statistical methods confirmed the improvement in the level with the heavy industrialization of Xinjiang energy intensity increased and then decreased presence of an inverted U-changing trend. Again, the theoretical analysis of heavy industrialization and changes in energy intensity inverted-U relationship, noting that in the heavy process of industrialization, the growth rate of energy consumption and economic growth rate of the shift, changes in market supply and demand of energy and the many factors affecting energy intensity The change has led to changes in energy intensity periodically. Then, using the measurement methods quantitative validation energy intensity inverted U curve. First, the use of that part of the energy intensity Wald test verified the existence of an inverted U-curve, and then create a dynamic distributed lag model punishment, heavy industrialization and energy to establish a long-term equilibrium relationship between the intensity of the quantitative characterization of energy intensity inverted U curve. The results show that from 1952 to 2007, the proportion of heavy industry in Xinjiang to promote the improvement of energy intensity has increased, while technological progress and other changes in the other variables in Xinjiang in 1977 the main reason for decline in energy intensity. Finally, the conclusions of this analysis are summarized, on this basis, to lower the energy intensity of Xinjiang policy recommendations, and noted that this study inadequate, and lack of these studies will be the breaking point for future research paper.
