Abstract


The home-made quartz spring thermal balance (ZL00247922.2) was used to investige the gasification characteristics of Huainan coal with high ash melting temperature(FT>1500℃). It was shown that CO2 gasification rate of Huainan coal was far lower than that of combustion. The CO2 gasification rate decreased with the reaction process. Compared with Gansu-Huating coal. Huainan coal was much lower in coal gasification activity. It took very long time for Huainan coal complete gasification, while combustion consumed very short time. Partly gasification (reaction rate is between 0.40 and 0.50) and continuous combustion was a better choice for Huainan coal commercial complete conversion.The steady-state flow simulation on Huainan coal gasification was performed by Aspen Plus software. It showed that reaction temperature increased rapidly with the rise of oxygen flow rate. The contents of carbon monoxide, hydrogen and effective syngas increased then decreased, while the changes of cabon dioxide and steam contents were opposite. The effective syngas content was more than 60% when oxygen/coal flow rate ratio was between 0.03 and 0.17 kg/kg, and reached the maximum 64.2%at 0.1kg/kg. When oxygen/coal flow rate ratio was between 0.06 and 0.14 kg/kg, reaction temperature decreased with the rise of H2O/O2 flow rate ratio. The contents of carbon monoxide, hydrogen and methane in syngas decreased, while steam and carbon dioxide contents increased with the H2O/O2 flow rate ratio increasing.The CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation analysis on the pulverized coal industry gasifier showed that particles and gas jet in high speed through the nozzle on the top of the gasifier, then diffused along radial and axial direction rapidly. In the upper chamber, there axially existed high, medium and low speed areas, and circulating particles formed a backflow layer close to the furnace wall. In the lower half region, gas and particle velocities were very slow, however, paticles were accelerated from the bottom to the exit.Figure 51 table 4 references 71
