Abstract


DC Withstand Voltage Test has not been a good test way for cross-linked polyethylene insulated cable (XLPE cable)because of severe space charge effects, damage of dielectric strength and endurance of XLPE cable under DC voltage. An AC test device is not expected for its big size, strong weigh and expensive price. New cable test way is needed to be found because strong reactive loss of cable though AC tests way is valid.In this paper, 0.1 Hz ELF voltage withstand test and use of Oscillating Wave Voltage in the Measurements of XLPE Power Cable are analyzed. The advantage of the two ways on power cable test is presented.
