Abstract

For an increasingly wide range of applications in emerging high-tech fields in recent decades , with the magnetic storage technology of spintronics , magneto-optical effect for the principle of magneto-optical devices and magneto-optical measurement techniques are also research basic and applied research in its unique advantages and broad application prospects , which led to a strong interest in people . Depending on the polarization state of the incident light , a magneto-optical effect can be simply classified as : a magneto - optical Kerr effect (MOKE), based on the linearly polarized light and circularly polarized magnetic circular dichroism color sex ( MCD ) . Wherein MOKE sensitive to the net magnetic moment of the sample surface , typically as an important means of surface magnetic measurements ; MCD primarily reflected samples for the difference of the light absorption of left-handed and right - handed , i.e. circular dichroism . For low energy (1-5eV) the MCD can reflect the characteristic absorption edge of the magnetic circular dichroism Fermi surface attachment , is also one of the study dilute magnetic semiconductor is an important experimental methods . This paper introduces the basic working principle of magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectroscopy and magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE) both measurement methods and autonomous structures , and studied in dilute magnetic semiconductor (DMS) the magneto-optical effect . My main contribution MCD spectrometer structures , software development , debugging , and MCD and MOKE measurements . The thesis is divided into the following five chapters: the first chapter , a general background , including classification, principle and application of the magneto-optical effect , and spintronics . The second chapter focuses on the magnetic circular dichroism spectrometer works isotropic , application, and our self - built magnetic circular dichroism spectrometer characteristics . The third chapter introduces the working principle and the experimental application of the magneto-optical Kerr effect . Chapter MCD and MOKE two measurement methods , and applied to ZnCoO dilute magnetic semiconductor thin film and CFO / KNN bilayers composite magnetoelectric effect multiferroic materials . Chapter V , concluding remarks and future prospects .
