Abstract


The rapid growth of economic development accordingly leads to a prosperous development of community sports. Yet, the need of qualified working staff in the sports entails great need of highly-qualified teaching materials with high level and good structure. The survey has been conducted to the five sports majors in 5 provincial colleges, and it has been found that some of the teaching materials, as far as its content and style of writing are concerned, leg far behind progressive expansion of new courses, for the speed and pace of knowledge renewal are further quickened and sports science and performance have been improved considerably.The reform of higher learning is further advanced. This trend brings many new textbooks’blueprint put forth by an array of universities and colleges. It, in turn, lead to the infusion into market of many versions of teaching materials with contrasting quality and they are offered by unlike names of publishing agencies. These books stress unduly the different parts of content and structure, and it consequently necessitate the work of evaluation on teaching materials which seem to be sincerely important for us to guide the writing, sieving of the books and ensure the more-than-good products to be delivered into student’s hands.As one of efficient means of textbooks’assessment, the work of evaluation on teaching materials holds the key significance to the enhancement of teaching quality. However, to warrant a smooth implementation of the work, we need to methodically set up well-organized structure of evaluation. The researcher, based on the analytic review of relevant theories domestic and foreign, explored the feasibility as well as obligatory design of teaching materials found in community sports and then established a system of teaching material evaluation.The researcher then, with the employment of the said system, materialized works of evaluation of teaching books used by main courses in many higher learning institutions, and the sizeable comprehension is achieved on textbooks following traits as whether they follow closely with the development of times and what is its allowance of difficulty as well as the reality of being practical, how much fun students could get and what is the quality of being designed out of logics and the quality of being used with easy operation. It also shed light on the selection of teaching materials and on the possibility of co-writing of books between institutions. It can be generally pointed out that the work of evaluation of teaching material, favorable to the improvement of higher learning reform, offer us a new approach to construct a new system of Evaluation which are badly needed by construction of new courses.
