This paper studied the video digital watermarking technology and its applications. Discussed the digital watermarking technology on the current status. Analysised the basic principles of video watermarking technology, characteristics of the video watermarking algorithm. Researched the requirements of the video digital watermarking and today’s typical algorithm. The MPEG-4 video watermarking application in the field of digital copyright protection value is also researched. Researched on MPEG-4 motion picture compression technology, discussed the new technology of the requirements in the video watermarking technology brings from the MPEG-4 standard.First, comparison of the classic video watermarking algorithms for analysis, research and realization of a DC-based DCT domain component of digital watermarking technology, learned from its blocking the original image brightness to 8×8 pixels, then broken down into four 4×4 small pieces of pixels, designed the video watermarking technology programme based on DCT domain, and through MATLAB simulation experiments. This programme will be through embedded the watermarking in video object on the DC coefficient of DCT of the I-frame brightness, conjunction with the principle of least significant bit(LSB) algorithm, embedded the watermark in the lowest DC coefficient, the computing complexity of embedding watermarking is lower, and the requirements of real-time video watermarking is also largely meet. Simulation results show that after, the image with the watermarking embedded suffered several of common attacks, such as, Gaussian noise, Salt and Pepper noise, sharpening attacks, shearing, and the watermarking information can be extracted, and good vision can distinguish. Description of the programme has a good robust.Then, followed by the study based on the classic video coding standard compressed domain watermarking options, the lessons embedded in the template of its synchronization technology and drift compensation technology to design and realize a compressed domain video watermarking scheme. Embedding, the use of spread spectrum watermarking technology to raise the security of watermarking sequence, the use of the template synchronization technology will embedded the synchronize information with watermarking in video object, and then the use of drift compensation to eliminate the interference and visual Degraded due to intra-video object in the plane I-VOP AC / DC coefficient frame video projections and forecasts object plane P-VOP, predicted two-way video object plane B-VOP motion compensation encoding. In the experiment, because the reasons for embedding the time, the simulation of the video frame only in a few frames were embedded watermarking. Simulation results show that after the image with the watermarking embedded suffered several of common attacks, such as, Gaussian noise, Salt and Pepper noise, frame extraction, improve contrast, the watermarking information can be extracted, and good vision can distinguish. The programme meets the requirements of the video watermarking in not visible in the visual and robust.
