Abstract


Benchmarking as a very popular management tool can effectively enhance the core competencies and competitive advantages, and ultimately improve or enhance the business performance, and have made great achievements in the foreign business management applications. Benchmarking for domestic enterprises in the competitive ability and management level is relatively backward, by imitating innovation, rapidly narrowing the gap with international outstanding enterprises have a very substantial and realistic significance. Benchmarking in China has just started in business management practice often deviations, especially in the choice of benchmark object and benchmark indicators. This paper describes the basic principles of benchmarking on benchmark the Benchmark selection management principles and steps, DuPont analysis, improvement, implementation of the benchmark performance evaluation and critical thinking. DuPont analysis benchmark object selection system analysis and research, and through the communication cable industry the target business practice case, try to establish a relatively perfect benchmark for object selection method. We first analyze the background and characteristics of the target enterprises in which industry benchmark for object selection target enterprises of communication cable, and select a representative of the nine listed companies as the study sample; then on the 2007 financial statements of the sample enterprises DuPont analysis and horizontal comparison, identified four of them as the industry leader; Next, we choose the listed companies with the same macroeconomic environment background - ZTE as a comparison, the analysis of the data of the nearly two years of financial statements with four industry-leading companies, the average the level horizontal comparison in order to clear the operating characteristics of the communication cable industry and profitability of the key factors; final financial statement analysis horizontal comparison data, find the gap between the average level of the target company and the industry leader, and the combination of the operating characteristics of the industry and profitability, including three identified as the benchmark object of the target company. Average of three benchmark object at the same time as the basis for establishing the benchmark operating margin benchmark sales margin, the benchmark asset turnover, the benchmark profit growth rate and the benchmark assets and liabilities was the core business performance assessment indicators and targets. In the last article, a brief analysis and elaboration of defects exist in the benchmark object selection for the DuPont analysis, presented in conjunction with balanced scoring wears, the introduction of non-financial indicators in order to improve the method and system of benchmark object.
