The Study of Stiffness Transitinonal Forms of the Transition Section between Ballasted Track and Ballastless Track

Transition Section is generally the weakest part of a high-speed railway. The existing differences of strength, stiffness as well as foundation settlement account for irregular deformations and consequently result in unevenness of railway line. To ensure the exact evenness of high-speed railway line, it is significantly necessary to appropriately set up Transition Section between areas that stiffness remarkably differs.Based on the generalization of previous models of Transition Section, this paper established computational models for the ballasted railway track and CRTSⅡslab ballastless railway track. Via analyses on different shapes of the deformation curves of different kinds of transition sections between ballasted railway area and ballastless railway track area under a certain static force, as well as the analyses on the magnitude of wheel-rail forces and foundation counterforces, this paper thereby evaluated the mechanical properties of transition sections with different transition forms, and finally optimized them.By means of the computational model established by the author, this paper analyzed the weakness and deficiency of the current transition forms—linear stiffness transition, and then proposed related methods for optimizing. By comparing the differences on mechanical properties of the three different transition forms:linear, sinusoidal as well as cubic polynomial stiffness transitions with each other, this paper endeavored to find a better and more suitable transition form for the ever-accelerated development high-speed railway.Finally, this paper also used this founded model to compare those sensitive factors such as Ratio of Track Stiffness, Transition Section Length and Running Speed with each other, according to the kinetic performance of ballasted—ballastless transition section of high-speed railway. Generally speaking, this paper is to some degree worthy of referring to about the transition section design for high-speed railway.
