In order to make a breakthrough on the design concept of modern farms, develop the ecological resources of urban fringe landscape scientifically, accelerate the sustainable development of urban and rural areas, this thesis presents study on the feasibility of design theory and operating model of CSA model in Hongshan Farm, Wangcheng County, which referred the design concept, business model and core values of CSA, took a number of farms in Changsha suburb as samples, made a case study on Hongshan Farm, based on use of field surveys and interviews and a literature survey combined with quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis methods. This paper summarizes research status on modern farms at home and abroad and the CSA history background and development trend, tests the relationship between consumer and producer under the CSA mode, states the basic connotation of suburb modern farm with CSA mode, reveals the ecological environmental function, agricultural production function, tourism leisure function, science education function and its ecological value, social value, technology value and aesthetics value of suburb modern farm with CSA mode.The study results show that developing the model of CSA model in Changsha bring out many advantages:making the production more appropriately, letting people have environmental awareness, having the projects more joined, and making the management more effectively. At the same time, this thesis points out that there still exist some problems in some of the modern farms:the lack of a complete industrial chain and industry system, poor agricultural production, clear artificial environment, substandard infrastructure, repeated construction of farms, agricultural resources and country folk culture being not further explored, lack of brand idea.It also analyzes the causes of the existing problems and proposes the suburb-based design concept (including principles, elements and planning) of modern farms:design principles considering ecosystem, interaction between production and life, cultural infiltration in elegant environment, design elements including land use, building layout, traffic arrangements, functional partitioning and identification system, circulatory system, and the new design planning of Hongshan Farm.
