Abstract


Class Ⅲ malocclusion in the Asian population, the proportion of larger (about 14.1%) mixed dentition. Craniofacial growth and development with the wrong co-occurrence of deformities development is closely related to different malocclusion deformity growth and development, the potential for growth and development of the craniofacial malocclusion timing of treatment choices, malocclusion deformity correction and prevention of recurrence have important clinical significance. Craniofacial growth and development of common research method is divided into longitudinal studies and cross-sectional study. Longitudinal studies difficult and uncommon reported; horizontal research attention gradually in recent years, Chinese people without therapeutic intervention class Ⅲ malocclusion the lateral large sample of patients craniomaxillofacial growth and development have not been reported. Objective: This study by the cross-sectional study of a large sample, the use of different gender analysis of untreated Class Ⅲ malocclusion patients with craniofacial growth and development characteristics of CVM staging (cervical vertebral maturation method) clinical Correction Class Ⅲ malocclusion deformity reference. Materials and Methods: 899 cases of Class Ⅲ malocclusion stage grouping patients according to sex and different CVM measurements before treatment X cephalometric films, mandibular growth analysis at different growth and development of Class Ⅲ malocclusion patients the characteristics of the development. Results: 1 male class Ⅲ malocclusion patients with mandibular ascending branch height (Co-Go) CS2-CS5 period increased significantly (P lt; 0.05) under the surface of the 1/3 of the height (L1-MP) CS1 between CS2 period and significantly increased (P lt; 0.05); 2 female patients with mandibular branch height (Co-Go) between CS3 and CS4 period in CS1-CS4 period showed a significant increase (P lt; 0.05), mandibular bone body length (Go-Gn) in CS3 and CS4 period of significant growth (P lt; 0.05) surface under 1/3 of the height (L1-MP), wholly under the mandibular length (Co-Gn) CS5 and CS6 of Inter has also significantly increased (P lt; 0.05). 3 For both men and women, none of the maxillary length (ANS-PNS) significant growth, and the mandibular plane angle (MPA) and the angle of the mandibular angle did not significantly change. Conclusion: 1 Male Female Class Ⅲ malocclusion peak period of growth and development in patients with mandibular there are CS1-CS2 (male average growth 8.3mm, the female the average growth 7.2mm), most of the growth from the mandibular support growth; 2 male patients full length of the mandible period in C3-C4 still more growth, then the growth has been slowing, and stop at C5-C6; the female patients full length of the mandible period of growth in the C3-C4 few, growth and then gradually slowed, but not stopped until the C5-C6 period; 3 with increasing age, class Ⅲ malocclusion patients with jaw disharmony will become more and more serious, but the mandibular plane angle (MPA) and jaw angle angle does not change significantly along.
