Abstract


Xincun Dialect in Xiangtang, Nanchang County is a dialect used in Nanchang suburb. As the maintain stuational language of the language situation , it contacts widely with Nanchang dialect and Putonghua. Such language contacts often lead to synchronic Language Variation. Therefore a study of sound of Xincun Dialect in Xiangtang in Nanchang County under the Theory of Language in Contact is an example of the study of languages’changes with Theory of Language Contact.This dessertation aims to study the sound of Xincun dialect. In the paper, the researcher obtains the Phonologicals of Xincun dialect on the basis of survey and research. The dissertation mainly adopts the theory of Language Contact to carry out the synchronic study and diachronic study. The researcher finds out the sound changes of Xincun dialect.Through the description and analysis, the paper finds out that the external factor related with language contacts which lead to the sound changes in Xincun dialect. Among the factors, the contacts with Nanchang dialect is the most prominent one, while following Putonghua. The trend is that the dialect is developing towards Putonghua. In essence competition among the different language components is the important cause of Xincun dialect changes.
