Objective: Generally evaluate the clinical effect and security by performing the clinical study of acupuncture on acute allergic contact dermatitis (ACD).Normalize the correlated criteria and manipulation standard further. Promote the clinical spread of this therapy.Method: 1.The patients are divided into two groups randomly, one is the treatment group (acupuncture group), and the other is control group (medicine group). Five days makes one observation course. The Chinese herbs and Western medicine or other therapies with similar effect are forbidden during the study. 2. The treatment group is consisted of 28 cases. The main points are Dazhui(DU 14), Weizhong(BL 40), Quchi(LI 11), Hegu(LI 4), Xuehai(SP 10), Geshu(BL 17), Ashi, Zusanli(ST 37), Shenmen(HT 7), Yinlingquan(SP 9). Needles: Rui Erqi needle of No.30 with 1.5 Cun in length .Needling techniques: Sterilize the needles regularly. First prone position, make the way of venesection and ventouse on Dazhui and Weizhong, volume of blood on 5-10ml; Oblique needling 0.5-0.8 Cun is on Geshu. After getting qi, fast twist needles on catharsis method and mid-powerful stimulation; Straight needling 0.8-1 Cun on Zusanli and Yinlingquan. After getting qi, make the way of first catharsis and second reinforcing method; Level needling is on Ashi from the rim of the skin-decayed area to centered, making the way of catharsis method and mid-powerful stimulation. Every time 30 minutes, every once, 5 days are observation course. Control group is 25 cases. Take Pi Fu Bing Xue Du Wan, 20 pills, PO, Bid. 3.Obsering indicatrix: the change of symptom and the physical sign (current degree of pruritus, burning sensation,fever, area of the skin lesion, number of blister, ulcer, erythema and eruption, anabrosis ),VSA, Eosinophil count (EOC). Criterion for the curative effect: Overall accumulated points of quantized symptom and physical sign, criterion for security. Result: 1.The comparison before and after the first treatment between the two groups: There is no difference between the two groups in the symptom score(P >0.05). But there is obvious difference between the two groups in the local itch and burning sensation scores(P<0.05)but no difference in the other scores after one treatment. It indicates that the treatment group is better than the control group in relieving the itch and burning sensation on the skin. In the treatment group, there is great obvious different before and after the first treatment(P<0.01). But in the control group, there is no difference before and after the first treatment(P >0.05). 2. The comparison before and after the treatment between the two groups: there is great obvious different before and after the treatment(P<0.01)in both groups. It indicates that both groups have obvious effect in treating ACD. The treatment
