Abstract

Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) damage, accompanying the breaking through development of IT industry in China and the appearance of macromolecule material, micro-electronics appliance and many other high-tech applications, have caused serious corporate losses and may even threaten on the country and the people. Therefore, attentions have been attracted on how to prevent ESD and its damages. Research in this area is becoming more and more popular. However, the on-going researches are mainly on ESD preventions in electronic, textile, and press industries. Hazardous goods storage industry, which involves many underlying dangerous factors, such as fluxing of different populations, loading and unloading of hazardous goods, transporting, piling, so on and so forth, is almost not covered. So, further research in this area is critical. This paper takes the dynamic performance of the railway hazardous goods warehouse as the research object. By analyzing the spot measured data and simulating experiment of dynamic performance, the electrostatic hazard mode is defined. As a sequence, the ESD model is established. And then, the protecting measures have been put forward. Finally, a protecting plan has been carried out. The proposed method is as follows:1. Single RC ESD model for moving human body and human-barrow 3RLC ESD model used in railway hazardous goods storage simulation are proposed in this study, in which ESD waveform are also analyzed using MATLAB.Moving bodies, such as managerial stall, security, drivers, may charge in the form of friction, induction, conduction, or adhesion etc. When they meet some proper object, it may incur electrostatic discharge, but the discharging type will change as the discharged object changes, and among them, sparking and brushing discharge stand for the greatest probability. That is to say, sparking discharge is possible to happen when the discharged object is grounded conductor, such as grounded-wire for thunder defense, and brushing discharge may happen when the discharged object is basketwork or plastic bottle. Both the mechanisms are defined as floating body model. When carters load or unload goods by barrow, charge and discharge of electrostatics are dynamic and hard to detect on spot. ESD may happen instantly when the barrow is pushed into cargoes. And sparking discharge is possible to happen when the cargo is happened to be metal bucket, while brushing discharge may happen if the cargo is basketwork or plastic bottle. So the barrow could be considered as external extending of carter’s body. And here, both of their mechanisms are defined as human-barrow model.2. A dynamic electrostatic simulating experiment system is designed, which can simulate practical working circumstance, measure the electrostatic potential, and explore multiple effects of several elements in dynamic working process. This experiment system consists of two large parts: electrostatic simulating lab and signal-achieving system. The electrostatic simulating lab simulate potential electrostatic discharge material in electrification process in the condition of different elements’combined effect, while signal-achieving system can display the waveforms and store the data. On the aspect of simulating experiment research, we primarily use the orthogonal method to analysis the influences of friction force, friction times, separating speed, temperature and humidity on the ESD potential in the dynamic working process. In a specific way, the whole orthogonal experiment is divided into two parts. Firstly, we do three different combination experiments to analyze the effects of all the elements above, and give some ESD prevention suggestions based on the analysis result. Then additional experiments are carried out and we use the extremum analysis and variance analysis methods to analyze the multiple effects of all the elements and give out their sequence in the order of the extent of their influence.3. The effect of all elements on quantity level by using unitary linear regression analysis and MATLAB is analyzed. In this paper, we use regression analysis to analyze the experimental data and find out the depending models between all the single elements and the electrostatic potential, and then verify the models by linearity analysis and MATLAB. As a result, we get the regression models between those single elements and the electrostatic potential.4. The electrostatic defending physical design and standard of the railway hazardous storage are proposed. On the basis of spot measurement and simulating experiment, we explain the basic electrostatic defending principles and contents; emphasize defending measure about static electricity, do electrostatic defending physical design for Jishan warehouse, and present electrostatic defending standard draft for the railway hazardous storage. This draft, borrowed some existing national standards in the static electricity industry, have specified the charging and discharging mode, circumscription of electrostatic hazard, ESD defending measures, defending management, and the processing program for ESD accident analysis and confirmation.
