Abstract


Tourist’s behaviour is one of the key aspects for the study of tourism.Influenced by the pattern of researching the customer’s behaviour, the study of tourist’sbehaviour has gone through three developing processes which are oriented respectivelyby decision-making, experience and behaviour impact. Mechanical behavior of thesestudies to guide tourists to the "fragmented" and "decomposition" from the system, notlinks, integrating, related to the Genetic Theory of mutual influence Perspective, to beunified, systematic acts of understanding tourists, there are some defects in these threeresearch orientations in term of systematic and completeness. This study attempted tothe theme of Genetic Theory that runs through tourism activities in the differentbehavior of tourists. Tourists from part acts to change the overall link from the partfeatures of the internal changes in the behavior of tourists correlation revealed overallcomprehensive law; This is the behavior of tourists model of Genetic Theory graduallyverifing process. The author tried to make up for deficiencies for the former research onthe behavior of tourists.Based on the national science fund program"Research on the Model of InboundTourist’ Behaviour of Different Social Groups in China" (NO.40271037), According tothe study of behavior, psychology, geography, economics, Tourism, Management andother theories. Made Inbound Tourists to the study, mainly guided by the researchmethods of Genetic Theory, this paper takes inbound tourists in China as the object ofresearch, follows the order of time and space that tourist’s activity occurs and choosesas the major research variables such as tourist motivation, tourist decision-making, andtourist behavioral intention. Accordingly, this paper studies systematically andcompletely the whole developing process of tourist’s behavior.As far as the research methods are concerned, this paper highlight the appliedprinciples of research method of Genetic Theory in the study of tourist’s behavior:consequent thinking, progressing, overall informational system, the integration ofdynamic analysis and static analysis and the combination of the positivism andexposition .As for the reference, this paper deduces and reasons the main definition andthe relationships among all variables in the study of tourist’s behavior as to lay ascientific and justifiable research foundation and theoretical hypothesis for positivistresearch which is based on relative scientific research results on tourist’ behavior, inorder to give a full and accurate account, this paper is based on 7143 pieces of effective specimens obtained by researching on the inbound tourist’s behavior in 2004,2005and2006,together with some statistical figures of partial social micro-economicdevelopment in 17 main inbound tourist-generating countries in China.There are altogether 10 chapters in this paper. In the first two chapters, based onsome relative research descriptions the applied principles of Genetic Theory researchmethods in the study of tourist’s behavior and the Genetic Theory research pattern oftourist’s behavior are put forward, which establishes a basic frame for the consequentanalysis with regards to methodology and research frame. In Chapter 3, tourists mainlyfrom psychology and behavior based on the research results have defined behaviorcharacteristics brigade tourists Perception and Cognition outbound tourism concept,which pave the road for consequent positivist relevant analysis in terms of definitionapplication. In chapter 4, factors analysis and cluster analysis are conducted to 17 maininbound tourist-generating countries in China in terms of relevant recessive relatingfactors affecting international tourist’s traveling. In chapter 5, this paper focuses on thefeatures of inbound tourist’s hidden and obvious motivations as well as motivation ofcoming to China ,in chapter 6,all kinds of factors influencing inbound tourist’ sdecision-making in China has been analyzed from behavioral space and using cognitivemap. In chapter 7, comparative analysis is carried out to the affecting factor on thechanges and links of the inbound tourist’s cognitive behavior according to the definitionof tourist cognition. In chapter 8, this paper analyzes the changes preference before andafter the inbound tourists come to China .In chapter 9 ,with the help of SEM method,the relationships among tourist’s cognition, tourist’s perceived value and touristbehavior intention has been analyzed. Finally, this paper makes a summary about theabove research and draw reader’s attention to innovations and the shortcomings of thispaper and the future research aspects.Conclusions are drawn as follows:(1) Tourist’s cognition is the key variable through the tourist’s behaviour and hasan obvious impact on tourist’s psychological state and behaviour features in differentperiods.(2) The hidden motivation of tourist is closely connected with tourist’s needs andtourist’s obvious motivation mainly results from the glamour of tourist destination.(3)The assessment of all affecting factors of decision-making when tourist makeshis decision mainly relies on tourist s’cognition. The factors affecting inbound tourist’sdecision-making in China are relevant "personal factors" and "perceptive factors of theenvironment of tourist destination". The dominant factors are "time, income andattitude". (4) The change of Tourists cognitive behavioral takes on the Features of "due tothe primary-Halo-latest-Halo" and "Schema-conform-assimilation-balanced".(5) Greatly influenced by tourist’s cognitive behaviour, tourist’s prefcrence hassome obvious changes.(6) Tourist s’ cognition has a favorable relationship with tourist’s perceived valueand tourist’s behaviour intention, which shows that tourist’s cognition, is the keyvariables through the tourist s’ behaviour.This study attempts to innovate in the followings:(1) Give a initial proposal of the scientific and rationality of tourist behavioralresearch directed by cognition and then confirm it ,which provides a new researchaspect for tourist behaviour study.(2) Establish a new Genetic Theory pattern of tourist behaviour study with thetime and space of tourist activity as clues.(3) Give a definition to tourist perception and tourist cognition with a specialfeature of tourist behaviour study.(4) On the Measurement Methods in tourists behavior, the factors affecting thedecision-making of tourists built a two-dimensional cognitive scheme. Estimate methodhaving brought forward the tourist cognition exponent and tourist preference degree;Have built tourist cognition and tourist perception value, tourist behavior intentioncorrelation structural model.
