Abstract


Since the 1990s , along with the popularization of compulsory education in rural areas and the country attaches great importance to China's rural education has been rapid development. Development of rural education , improve the overall quality of workers , and promote the development of agricultural science and technology , thus contributing to economic growth in agriculture . Therefore, the study of rural education development impact of economic growth on agriculture has important theoretical and practical significance . This paper based on the basic theory of modern economics , the integrated use of a variety of analytical methods to study the development of rural education on the impact of agricultural growth . This paper first describes the impact of agricultural economic growth of rural education 's basic theory ; followed by analysis of China's rural education development and economic growth in the current situation of agriculture ; Then using 1990-2008 data , empirical test of China's rural education development impact of economic growth on agriculture ; finally come to basic conclusions and policy recommendations . The main conclusions are: ( 1 ) rural education by improving the quality of workers , to adjust the population structure, agro-ecological awareness and training workers to promote agricultural science and technology development in four areas impact on agricultural growth ; ( 2 ) the overall educational level of rural low levels of education and school size uneven development ; ( 3 ) China's rural education and agricultural economic growth are cointegrated , through the formation of rural education in rural areas of human capital on economic growth in agricultural produce positive role in promoting, its elasticity coefficient was 1.23 , higher than the elasticity of physical capital , but because of the slow growth of human capital , the contribution rate of 15.13 percent , far lower than on physical capital contribution to the growth rate of the agricultural economy . The main innovations: ( 1 ) This article tries to both rural and technological progress to more profound than the system of rural education reveals the impact on agricultural growth mechanisms and procedures ; ( 2 ) on rural education impact on agricultural growth less quantitative research , so this paper relevant statistical data from 1990 to 2008 , the establishment of econometric models , empirical test of China's rural education development on agricultural economic growth , and according to the regression results , estimates of the rural human capital on economic growth in agriculture contribution rate .
