Abstract


The ethnic publication is an important aspect of our country’s ethnic work, and also plays an important part in publications works. The ethnic publication refers to the publications written in ethnic characters, including the publications of minority books, newspapers, sound and video recordings, network and digital productions. China’s current ethnic publication which is in the certain condition of globalization , based on marketization and in the wave of digitization has to face opportunities and challenges, achievements and problems at the same time. To research and promote national publication work have a great significance to the realization of China’s cultural security and enhancing as well as promoting political stability, achieving cultural preservation and prosperity, it also plays an important part in achieving economic development, and cultural succeed and innovation.The ethnic publishing productions which have the characters of less in audience, printed and distributed in small amount and rich in cultural ecological character, market-oriented degree is low commonly are regionally and have strong nationality. China’s ethnic publication is not only a platform and a propagandistic machine of socialism thought, but also a part of socialist culture publication, which is under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, it has been given more social welfare. By its very nature, we can divide the function and role of the national publication into the following six main areas:①political orientation and ideological cohesion function,②national unity and social integration capabilities,③native language and national traditional culture heritage and develop function,④function of the popularizing of science and technology,⑤national cultural exchanges and communication function, as well as⑥cultural entertainment and leisure function.This paper takes its research by put the ethnic publication into the background of the development of social economy and culture in contemporary China. It is not only discussing the meaning, the nature, the status, the functions, the policy and the evolution of the ethnic publication, it also focuses on the ethnic publication in the current situation, while the problems and prospects for development. This paper trying to demonstrate that the basic orientation of the ethnic publication is to build an advanced socialist culture and cultural harmony, the fundamental way is to vigorously promote ethnic economic and social culture development,the important requirement is government’ support, including policy support, financial support and manpower support, etc. ,the very channel is the reestablish of ethnic publication, in addition to carry out the specialization strategy,diversification strategy, the digital strategy and the "going out" strategy.
