Abstract


Financial report, because of its telltale, predictive characteristics, gives full play to solving problems in the financial crisis. Its functions can be stated as follows: transfer financial information, guide economic behavior; Analyze financial phenomenon, supervise economic behavior; Interpret financial policy, promote system; Spread financial knowledge and improve the economic literacy.Financial report was produced in the middle of 90’s, originated from traditional economic newspapers. Through 10 years of development, the traditional economic newspapers are becoming not so powerful, and new styles of financial newspapers have found their position in the segmenting market with modernity, specialization and broad prospects. As new financial newspapers, the 21st Century Business Herald and Economic Observer are both among the best, making qualitative break through in news concept, reports way and operation mode. Moreover, at present, they have done very well in the aspects of market space, social influence and brand awareness. It can be modestly predicted that in the near future, China will have financial media compared to Wall Street Journal.In this paper, the concept, the characteristic and function of financial report are summarized. Then financial reports from the 21st Century Business Herald in the past two economic crisis years are selected. By content analysis, the new features of financial reports are summarized. Next, according to the current situation of financial reports, the development direction of financial report in the following ten years is predicted. At last, drawing on the experience of the famous foreign financial media, through the development direction of the reference of foreign famous, the author tries to find ways to broaden the financial media in China, and make practical contributes to the development of financial reports industry.
