Based on IT means, digital factory can improve managing and deciding level of industrial enterprises during manufacturing and running. With the development of the industrial modernization, as a system engineering, the development of digital factory will become more and more important. Digital factory, with the help of three-dimensional(3D) visualization technology and by the means of geographical information, numerical modeling and database technology, aims to supply a totally new, realistic and direct3D information plat for the enterprise operational management, planning and security management, it promotes the modernization of management, the sustainable development and the core competitiveness of the enterprise.From the demanding of digital factory construction, the paper shows the system design about the3D visualization of the digital factory, elaborates the sources of experimental data and the means of the quality control. At the same time, it puts forward the3D systems construction method of the digital factory as following:Firstly, taking some petrochemical plants for example, we import the large scale topographic maps of the test area into3ds Max2010to create a3D surface features model and better the models, this can creat3ds file for ArcGIS9.3to use.Secondly, we edit the3ds file, such as property adding and optimization of the model, to maintain a model for the system to use, then the Multipatch files gotted, would be switched by using the ArcGIS9.3.Thirdly, we import the Multipatch files into Geodatabase to create the digital factory3D visualization database.Finally, based on the database and ArcEngine/Arc Scene, we use Java to develop the digital3D visualization system, such that realize the linkage of the management between the3D and two-dimension (2D) maps.Intuitive3D scene in digital factory3D visualization system takes place abstract map symbols in2D maps. The paper provides the effective ways for the construction and application of the digital factory3D visualization system, greatly facilitates the construction of digital factory and accelerates the informationizing of the enterprises.
