Large-scale virtual scene programmable GPU - based real-time rendering technology research , the concern by many scholars . More and more widely in the visual field . Most real-time rendering of large - scale virtual scene is based on CPU completed , but the main work of the CPU internal data processing and transport computer in the data between the CPU and graphics card than dedicated graphics processor , in the large-scale graphics rendering exist on some bottlenecks in the transmission . Therefore , the paper -based GPU to achieve real-time rendering of large-scale virtual scene has important theoretical significance and practical value . Current research on the real-time rendering of large-scale virtual scene first systematically expounded , and then made ??a detailed introduction and research and development on the GPU , this paper focuses on are as follows : First of programmable graphics rendering pipeline works , and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of programmable graphics hardware , the analysis based on the principle of GPU acceleration , at the same time to find out where the CPU and GPU to render the scene there may be a bottleneck , and were raised in the vertex shader and pixel shaders way to solve the bottleneck . Also made a detailed study of terrain rendering and rendering techniques . Dynamic LOD technology , in-depth analysis , constructed quadtree structure for the GPU , the GPU-based dynamic LOD technology , and on this basis to achieve visibility culling and triangulation , to map out the terrain a trellis diagram . The realized dynamic terrain texture synthesis technology , and made ??improvements to the lack of dynamic texturing techniques to improve the speed of the drawing , so the more realistic renderings texture synthesis . 4 in the terrain on the basis of the trellis diagram , the texture map , and to simulate the real terrain . This paper -based real-time rendering of large-scale GPU terrain effect , the use of technology based dynamic LOD and texture synthesis techniques allow more realistic simulation of the effect . The good results of experimental simulation .
