Abstract


As the core of an automobile ignition system, ignition coil’s performance decides whether the vehicle can work normally. Designers are devoting their effort to develop ignition coils with higher performance, but this can’t be separated from precise measuring equipment. Domestic ignition coil testers all have such disabilities as inadequate testing items, low precision, low automatic level and long testing period, while imported ones are not able to satisfy the need for the high expenses and difficulty in maintaining. Thus the development of ignition coil testing system with independent intellectual property is of great importance.In this dissertation, based on the analysis of performance parameters and testing methods of ignition coils, the study on the structure of modern ignition coil testers and the techniques of computer testing and control as well as virtual instrument, an automatic testing system according to Volkswagen Standard LAH032.905 is developed for RUV4 ignition coils used in Bora, Jetta, Golf, etc.The dissertation has shown the structure of the system, introduced the design process, chosen appropriate mainframe and function board cards, and designed signal capturing and automatic control patterns. Given the strong electromagnetic environment the system will work in, the anti-electromagnetic ability of the system is enhanced in the overall arrangement and wiring. The system software, following the structure of virtual instrument, is designed with simple operation and pleasing interface and optimized in order to raise the operating speed and efficiency. The repeating precision of the test result is paid special attention in the debugging and testing of the system.The system is in accord with the test standard, satisfies the users’need, and has successfully passed the check before acceptance. The application of the system will inevitably fasten the developing of domestic ignition coils.
