Abstract

With the development of economy and society , the demand for information is growing , and the ever-increasing demands on network bandwidth . All telecommunication services through the access network must be able to provide to the user, the existing access network built by copper bandwidth and transmission distance restrictions , has been unable to meet the requirements of the large volume of information transmitted . In order to solve this increasingly prominent contradiction , the backbone network is already quite mature optical fiber communication technology eventually introduced to the field of access network . Construction of optical access network based on the proximity of the optical fiber from the user , can be divided into FTTCab ( fiber to the transfer box ) , FTTB / C ( fiber to the building / junction box ) , FTTO ( fiber to the company / office ) , FTTH ( fiber-to- home users ) and FTTV ( fiber-to- village) , collectively referred to as FTTx, FTTH is the ultimate goal of fiber access . PON ( Passive Optical Network) technologies emerge , its low cost and easy operation and maintenance characteristics , making extensive application of large-scale FTTx PON technology based on the construction mode . In this thesis research perspective based on the telecom operators to explore the fierce competition in the domestic telecommunications market , tight investment environment , how to segment the customer base and application scenarios , a reasonable choice of FTTx construction mode , make sure to maximize investment returns . This thesis focuses on three aspects : first , the the PON technology base and underlying rationale and key technologies ; Second, different business scenarios , China Unicom FTTx PON technology - based construction mode ; Third, the construction of Zhejiang Unicom PON instance . This thesis is a combination of actual work, focusing on the full integration of the theoretical research and engineering practice .
