Abstract


Earthquake is a kind of natural disaster which is difficult to predict and the damage isvery great. Because China lies in the place where earthquake comes frequently and most ofthese long-span cable-stayed bridges stand in the place where seismic intensity exceeds sevendegrees. Therefore the correct and effective design of earthquake resistance is of greatimportance to the safety of long-span cable-stayed bridges.The dynamic characteristics and the response under the different seismic wave input ofthe Xiangshangang Bridge with long-span are analyzed and discussed in details byMIDAS/CIVIL, On this basis, we also carried out spectrum response analysis, time-historyanalysis and travelling wave effects analysis. The main contents in this thesis as follows:(1) First of all, The theoretical development of seismic profiles of long-span bridges isoverviewed, and the analysis for seismic response spectrum and time history methods ispresentated and discussed.(2)The finite element model has been established and the dynamic characteristicsanalysis of the Xiangshangang Bridge with long-span has been carried out, to prepare for thespectrum analysis.(3) Spectrum analysis is done to find the response characteristics of the bridge. under theE1and E2earthquake, to estimate seismic response under the stimulus of three directionsseismic wave input, and to prepare for the dynamic time-history analysis.(4) The dynamic time-history analysis of the Xiangshangang Bridge with long-span hasbeen finished. The response characteristics under the different seismic wave input areanalyzed in details. The response results under one-dimension, two-dimension and three-dimension seismic wave input are compared.(5) The application of seismic theory, through the time-history analysis, carried out underthe key parameters of the Twin Towers two-cable-plane seismic response of long-span cable-stayed bridge analysis, results in the calculation based on the results of the bridge analysis, to draw pertinent conclusions to sum up their performance under seismic response, such as afterthe construction of a bridge for reference.
