In recent years, DCT has become the focus of research in the field due tohis excellence in transmission efficiency and shifting comfort property. Whatis more, it has the advantages of lower manufacturing costs and continualpower shifting. It will contribute positive significance to improve Chinese capacity ofindependent research and development in automatic transmission to go deepresearch and commercialization of Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT).The paper, based on key project of "A Research of New Type Dual ClutchTransmission (DCT)" from Auto Engineering Technology Design&ResearchInstitute in Hefei University of Technology, the main content as follow:Featuring3D parametric models were constructed which combinedfeature technology with parametric model based on the wide-appliedCAD/CAM/CAE integrated software Pro/e. In accordance with performance ofthe transmission, the detailed procedure for parametric models of thetransmission’s main parts.Assembly modeling followed the3D parametric model in Pro/eenvironment, creating a movement analysis in Pro/e for movement simulationof the transmission. During this process, interference inspection wasconducted to see the correctness of parametric design of the transmission. Thisaccumulated some knowledge beneficial to the virtual assembly andmovement simulation of the transmission.A finite element model for input axis was created based on ANSYS andits static analysis was performed. Equivalent cloud maps of stress and vectordisplacement were drawn and the strength and stiffness of the input axis werecorrected. The first nine inherent frequencies and the correspondent vibrationmodes were identified by finite element modal analysis, which constituted thebases for resonant response analysis and transient analysis.
