Taoist architecture is an important part of ancient Chinese traditionalarchitecture, it is the heavenly place of Taoist worship and the festival of the gods, it isalso the place of practice, daily life and religious activities of Taoists. Taoist architectureis a representation of ideology and culture of Taoist conception and materialized form, itis a product which is a combination of material and religious spirit.In this article, we started from Taoist culture, payed close attention to the culture ofTaoist buildings. Based on this, we visited and studyed the most five famous Taoisttemples of our country, study their layout, architectural pattern, scale, function, color,decoration and cultural content. By analyzing these content, we got the morphologicalcharacteristics of Taoist building. Combined with practical design of the LouguantaiTaoism culture display area, we got the final research results which is a method ofrestore the Taoist buildings with different history pattern."Birthplace of Taoism" Louguantai is the palce of the great thinker of ancientChina "LaoZi" who gives speech of his book "moral". In history, the emperors, writersand poets also visit Louguantai personally. Louguantai is builded as the largest andhighest regulation Taoist Cultural Exhibition by Xi’an of China. Louguantai is used ofpromoting the Taoist culture, integration of local cultural resources, making the chain ofcultural industries. Tourism economy can also be developed with the culture of Louguantai.The overall layout of the Louguantai display area is composed of one axis,ninecourtyards, ten hall. Louguantai display area is build as the Royal Taoist Palace, theirbuilding style is the ancient buildings of Ming and Qing style. The building ishierarchical, colorful, gorgeous. The pattern of Louguantai display area is an importantpart of development and evolution of Taoist buildings, it can also be a reference to thegroup expansion, protection and restoration of Taoist cultural buildings.
