In recent years , nonlinear directional coupler as a very high value ( ultrafast all-optical signal processors , samplers , pulse compression , all- optical switch light, etc. ) which attracted widespread attention. At the same time , chiral media also because of their special mode transmission characteristics and highly favored by academia and industry . However, the prospects for broader application of the nonlinear coupling of chiral media research but few people involved , and thus has high academic value and attractive prospect . This paper summarizes the nonlinear directional coupler research history and progress of chiral media concepts, classifications , chiral fiber coupled mode equations and other issues. In this thesis, based on the propagation constant variation from the linear chiral fiber coupled equations, and on the hands of the optical arrangement of three different fiber coupling are explored , analyzed influence of chiral fiber coupling factor. Then the linear model based on the introduction coupled nonlinear constitutive relation is derived chiral fiber coupled nonlinear equations , and using the equation explore chiral fiber quasi-continuous switching theory and chiral fiber-coupled device -MZI of derivative nonlinear effects . Chiral nonlinear optical coupler for building a new all-optical switch. One can also make use of the right circular and left circular polarization mode is independent of the transmitted information , greatly enhance the transmission capacity of the communication system .
