Abstract

History of Modern Architecture in China during the turn of the new and old buildings, the introduction and development of new building systems, the old building system is also a continuation of the trend from the construction point of view, the mainstream of modern architecture in China is a new construction system. First, the new building system introduced in the coastal cities and the development of modern mainstream, and then gradually spread into China inland and in the process of continuous integration of traditional and local characteristics of evolution occurs, the process is an important feature of modern architecture. Modern Modern Architecture Since a large number of mainstream and typical, representative, for the construction of modern Chinese cities and more for the mainstream.As a important city in central China, Although Changsha can not compare with an essential city on the scale of the quantity top and building of modern age building,the modern age construct shape of each time all have the representative’s building. And most of them blended Chinese element and local special feature.It is one that the western building system that Chinese modern age constructs a source prinipal changes in propagation and Shan of China important and typical model of segment.Changsha is the capital of Hunan province.It’s history as a region whose education is very developed was beginning in the Song dynasty.The Hunan School,which was originated from the culture of Hunan,generated an profound impact to the modern education in China.It’s trodition which attach much importance to education made the Hunan people rethink the old education first in modern China and strongly propel modern style education.This expressed at the construction of the Changsha modern-times and modern style school up apparantly.Compared with the other constructions in the same time,architects who designed the univercity buildings of modern Changsha are professional designers who has accepted architecture education of western countries or foreign architects.Their productions were very excellent both in profession and in it’s quality.The thesis is devided into5chapters:The first chapter firs describes the source of the question and analyses the value and meaning of it.Then introducts the way how to research it,and makes a review of the research production. The second chapter analyses the influence made by the Hunan culture and the modern education to the university buildings of Changsha.The third chapter puts the development of modern Changsha university buildings to a background of the modernization of Changsha city.The forth chapter makes an particular analysis to those university buildings which is representative.It is the main body of the thesis.The fifth chapter gives an conclusion of the whole thesis.It describes the value of the modern university buildings of Changsha based on the research made by above chapters.The modern university buildings of Changsha is not only an exeample of the communication between the Chinese and the western,but also far-reaching to the later revival of the Chinese troditional construction.The writer wish to learn to the way to study the modern history of architecture from making this thesis,and also hope to make a real contribution to the contemporary architecture, an aim to inherit the modern architecture culture.
