With the expanding of wind power, the monitoring of wind power plant is becoming increasingly important. In order to solve the interconnection, interoperability and scalability issues between devices from different manufacturers within wind power plant, this paper researches and develops a monitoring system for wind power plant based on object-oriented technology and IEC61400-25standard. The main contents are as follows:(1)This paper investigates the main content and the technical characteristics of IEC61400-25standard, and analyzes the advantages of implementating the IEC61400-25standard with MMS protocol mapping.(2)Based on IEC61400-25standard Information Modeling for wind turbines and wind power plants, the configuration files using the SCL language and XML is compiled. By defining the Information Exchange Model and the Mapping to Communication Profile, the communication between the wind turbines is achieved. An integrated monitoring system of wind power plant and substation based on object-oriented is proposed. Take the wind turbine main controller as an example, this paper focuses on the method of completing the protocol transform by directly embeding MMS services software module into the PLC system. The configuration process of the software module is deeply analysed, the connection between the wind turbine main controller and the debugging aids have achieved. A method of satisfy the IEC61400-25standard for the non-standard equipment hardware by adding a protocol dispatcher is proposed.(3) Considering the latest progress of USE61400-25, the conformance testing for IEC61400-25has been improved by analyzing the process and content of IEC61400-25standard conformance testing. The similarities and differences of conformance testing and interoperability testing are compared.(4) Combining with an actual wind power plant, a retrofit scheme including the protocol dispatcher is raised. The software and hardware structure of the protocol dispatchers are discussed. The MMS service software module is configurated following the method of the wind turbine main controller’s configuration. The monitoring and control system which adopted the scheme has achieved multiple types of wind turbines’communication and have a good performance.The research in this paper is a significant way in promoting IEC61400-25standard and building the intelligent wind power plant in the future.
