Abstract


The antimicrobial activity of benzimidazolone amide derivatives was reported seldomand there was no report about its mechanism of action. The antifungal activity and mode ofaction of two representative compounds IV-02and IV-02a were tested in this research basedon pre-synthesis of a series of new benzimidazolone amide derivatives compounds.Antifungal activity of compounds IV-02and IV-02a against Fusarium graminearum,Phytophthora infestans, Botrytis cinerea and Verticillium dahliae were tested through growthrate method and pendant-drop method. The compounds IV-02and IV-02a showed goodinhibitory action against spore germination and mycelial growth of tested fungi and theinhibition rate increased with the increase of the concentration in the range of selectedconcentration. Specifically, the antimicrobial effect of compounds against Botrytis cinereawas significant and inhibiting spore germination was the main mode of action. Additionally,the EC50values of compounds IV-02and IV-02a against Botrytis cinerea were1.337μg/mLand0.559μg/mL, respectively.Shaanxi province is an important apple production base in China. Apple industry hasbecome one of the six pillar industries in Shaanxi Province, playing a vital role in promotingthe rapid economic development in Shaanxi Province. However, in recent years, thewidespread occurrence of apple valsa canker poses a serious threat to the rapid developmentof apple industry. Preventing and curing apple valsa canker is very difficult. Using Asomate,as one of the most effective control method, is prevalent in controlling apple valsa canker. ButAsomate is a moderately toxic fungicide and harmful to human health and the naturalenvironment. Thus developing new effective control agents has become the most significanttask in controlling apple valsa canker. In this research, the control effect of new fungicides onapple valsa canker was investigated. Three new fungicides DingSheng FuDiSheng No.1, No.2and No.3showed goodcontrol effect on apple valsa canker. After scrawling the fungicides, the lesions healedgradually without extension and recurrence, partially treated lesions grow new bark. Lesions’healing is closely related to the degree of coverage of the applicator and the health conditionof trees.Through the application of several different biocontrol agents and the application ofdifferent fungicides on apple tree trunk, the results showed that “striking off lesions andparcelling fungicide mud with scrawling the fungicides” was the better approach, which notonly can promote the injured parts of the callus formed as soon as possible, and alsobeneficial to the tree’s health condition.
