Abstract

Nickel-based superalloy (GH4169) now is widely used in manufacturing Turbine and engine of aviation ,aeronautics and ship because of its outstanding thermal stabilities and thermal fatigue properties. However, GH4169 is very difficult to machine. The contridicton, which is urgently need to be addressed, between increasingly wide range of application and poor processing performance is becoming more and more prominent. There are many factors affecting the machinability and many studies have been done on tool materials, blade geometry parameters and cutting. But there are few studies on blade shape and emulsion treatment, so this paper intends to achieve the purpose of efficient machining by means of conducting a experimental study on both of them.Firstly, based on the review of machinability of nickel-based superalloy GH4169,this paper puts foword to machine GH4169 with round blade tool.So the indexable turning tools must be designed and manufactured, and cutting experiments need to be done between two different blade shape turning tools.Secondly, comparative experiments need to be done by using the round blade tool in the condition of dry cutting, emusion untreated and magnetic emusion to analysis impact rules of magnetic emusion on the main cutting force, the surface routhness and the chip morphology. In the condition of magnetic emultion, the orthogonal experiment was carried out and the main cutting force was the objective fuction.Through the orthogonal test, this paper analysises the impact order and degree of a_p, f, v_c, t_v, n_v and q_v to the main cutting force and obtain the best level combination. Then,it analysises the tool wear through the tool wear experiments.Thirdly, comparative experiments need to be done by using the round blade tool in the condition of dry cutting, emusion untreated and ultrasonic emusion to analysis impact rules of ultrasonic emusion on the main cutting force, the surface routhness and the chip morphology. In the condition of ultrasonic emultion, the orthogonal experiment was carried out and the main cutting force was the objective fuction.Through the orthogonal test, this paper analysises the impact order and degree of a_p, f, v_c, t_v, n_v and q_v to the main cutting force and obtain the best level combination. Then,it analysises the tool wear through the tool wear experiments. Finally, the cooling lubrication machnisim of emulsion after magnetic or ultrasonic treatment was discussed by using conical capillary model and knowledge of physics and chemistry. The results showed that molecular particle size became smaller overall after treatment and the proportion of molecular particle size which is less than 0.2μm significantly increased. The emulsion molecular could fully get into the capillary of cutting zone and form lubrication film to play an effective role in cooling and lubrication.
