Abstract

A plot trial was taken in this study; soybean and corn were subject researched, including twoplanting patterns and three nitrogen levels. Under different nitrogen levels, the amount of drymatter accumulation, the nutrients absorption, crop yield, soil inorganic nitrogen and soil enzymeactivities on different tillage treatments were analyzed in this study. Result showed:1. Effected of mixed cropping on the amount of dry matter accumulation and the absorption ofnutrients. The overall change trend of the amount of dry matter accumulation and nitrogen (N),phosphorus (P), potassium (K) were similar. Under mixed cropping, the amount of dry matter andN, P, K accumulation were higher than that of soybean and lower than of corn under sole cropping. The absorption of nutrients under mixed cropping was also better; soybean could promote thenutrients absorption of corn under mixed cropping. In the whole growth period, with nitrogenapplication rate increasing the amount of dry matter and N, P, K accumulation of soybean showeda trend which was rising first and then falling, and that of corn showed a trend which wasincreasing.2. Effect of mixed cropping on the biological yields of soybean and cornAt the same nitrogen application rate, the yield of corn under mixed cropping was higher thanthat of sole cropping, but the yield soybean was lower. The whole yield under mixed cropping wasbigger than the sum of soybean and corn under sole cropping, and the whole yield was increasedwith nitrogen application rate increasing.3. Mixed cropping effected on soil inorganic nitrogenIn the whole growth period, the soil nitrate nitrogen content of mixed cropping was lower andthe ammonium nitrogen content was higher than that of soybean sole cropping. The inorganicnitrogen and ammonium nitrogen content of mixed cropping was higher than that of corn solecropping. The soil inorganic nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen and ammonium nitrogen content wentincreased with nitrogen application rate increasing.4. Effect of mixed cropping on nitrogen utilization efficiencyUnder mixed cropping, nitrogen utilization efficiency of soybean reduced, but that of cornincreased. Nitrogen utilization efficiency of mixed cropping was higher than the sum of soybean orcorn sole cropping. Therefore, the mixed cropping system showed much advantage..5. Mixed cropping Effect on soil enzyme activityIn the whole growth period, soil enzyme activities showed a trend that were lower in earlierstage and then rose in middle stage and dropped in latter stage. Mixed cropping could promote some of the soil enzyme activities.
