Abstract

Pervaporation membrane separation technology as a development prospects, has become a focus for researchers. Polyurethane pervaporation membrane material has been widely used in the separation of organic matter mixed system with its unique structure and performance. According to the principles of the dissolving and diffusion of the pervaporation membrane separation, micro-phase separation structure is conducive to the diffusion of the component is separated in the film dissolved. In order to improve the separation performance of the polyurethane film of organic compounds in water, prepared HTPB-PU membrane, HTPB-VTES-PU membrane, and studied film composition pervaporation performance of micro-phase separation structure of low concentrations of butanol / water system . First, a two-step synthesis HTPB-based polyurethane prepared corresponding pervaporation membrane (HTPB-PU). The obtained film is used for the low concentration of the separation of the butanol / water system, the pervaporation performance of a different proportion of soft and hard segments, and the different operating temperatures of the membrane. DSC test results show that the presence of two glass transition temperature of HTPB-PU membrane; TEM images show the film there are light and dark micro. Therefore, the film having a micro-phase separation structure. Butanol and water of the dissolving and diffusion in the film behavior were analyzed with the permeability coefficient and the solubility parameter. Experiments show that increasing the content of the hard segment of i.e. -NCO/-OH proportion increases, the separation factor of the membrane increased the flux decline. -NCO/-OH = 2, the separation factor of the membrane was 42.8, and the permeate flux was 38.1 g/m2h. As the operation temperature increases, the permeation flux of the membrane and the separation factor are increased. VTES introduced to HTPB-based polyurethane synthesis, the preparation of different degree of crosslinking of VTES crosslinked HTPB-based polyurethane, and was obtained corresponding to the pervaporation membrane (HTPB-VTES-PU). The obtained film may also used for separation of the low concentration of butanol / water system, and studied the influence of different VTES added amount and the different operating temperatures of the membrane pervaporation performance. DSC tests show that the the HTPB-VTES-PU film has three glass transition temperature and the presence of the three-phase zone is clearly observed in the TEM photo. Therefore, joined VTES film micro-phase increase in the degree of separation. By the calculation of the coefficient of permeability, HTPB-VTES-PU film having good selection properties of butanol. The pervaporation experiment results display, as VTES add increased, the permeation flux of the membrane is increased, the decline in separation factor. Membrane permeation flux and separation factor with operating same temperature trend HTPB-PU membrane trend.
