Abstract


The “Red Flag” is the masterpiece in the1950s, the phenomenon that it changed the fictioninto the “history” was rather common among all the classic revolutionary literatures at the sametime. This article just tried to compare the details between the text in the “Red Flag” and the truehistory, in order to point out the magic function that the “Red Flag” as a fiction, but succeeded increating the magic of the history.The introduction of this article describes the view around the “Red Flag” since the1950s,the purpose and significance why I written on this subject. The first part of the paper made thehistorical events and the true shape of the figure which appeared in the novel “Red Flag” asimple but real reduction. The second chapter focus on the difference narrative between thehistory and novel, pointed out that the narrative in the novel was more magical and legendarythan the true history, in order to achieve the purpose of establishing the heroic of the peasantrevolution. The third section compared the “Red Flag” with same novels talked about the farmerswritten in the early time by Liang Bin, with other novels which written about the struggle amongfarmers in1930s, and the modified text on the “Red Flag” after the Cultural Revolution, forreach such a conclusion that the “Red Flag” made the “history” more legendary. The forthchapter is the key part of the article, I try to find the mistake and difference from the people whotook part in the events and the writer when they recalled the events, just for pointing out that the“Red Flag” is so important that it came to distort the history. At last, the paper indicated variousreasons which changed the “Red Flag” from unreal narrative into the stereotypes of history,including both the subjective purpose of the writer and the people who took part in the events,but also includes the social background of the particular era.
